I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in the District of Columbia. Through psychotherapy and coaching, I help individuals, couples, and families lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

My areas of clinical experience include depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma, life transitions, sexual orientation, grief and loss, substance abuse, family restructuring, and neglect and abuse.

One of my specialities is working with clients who have had or are preparing to have cross-cultural experiences. Such experiences offer incredible opportunities for personal growth, but they also present unique challenges and vulnerabilities.

With two convenient office locations in Washington, DC, I offer day, evening, and weekend appointments. I also work with clients using video conferencing (e.g. Skype) and e-mail as circumstances dictate.

I do consulting, workshops, and presentations for corporations, non-profit organizations and academic institutions on topics such as cross-cultural communication and collaboration, culture shock, grief and loss, and depression.

Please contact me for more information, a telephone consultation or to schedule an initial appointment. If I am unable to take your call, please leave a message in my confidential voice mail box. You may also email me at info@maurakristof.com.
